Off The Radar
MAKE YOUR DREAM LIFE COME TRUE
In light of rocketing oil prices and dwindling house values, it’s quite possible that the suburban life style will be unaffordable to many folks in the near future. Retiring baby boomers who don’t want to compromise their lifestyles are looking more and more to their southern neighbors for temperate climates, affordable housing and a slower lifestyle, with enough money left in the budget to travel. According to a recent Money Magazine study, approximately a quarter million Americans leave the country annually to relocate abroad, permanently, and there are probably many more considering such a move. And that number probably reflects only the ones we know about; plenty more are completely off the radar. From my perspective here in Central America, it seems that at least half of those relocating are either retiring, or redefining themselves after full careers and lives in the US or Canada.
If your house is worth less than your mortgage, if your IRA has dwindled to frighteningly low levels; if you’re not sure whether you can afford expensive health insurance forever; if you’re thinking you may never be able to quit working;…..or, if you’re just bored with life and need a jolt of adventure and challenge, then you need to read this book.
